This week we're on Vacation

Hello everyone and greetings from Harrison, Maine. I hope that you are all enjoying your summer and time with their family. Each year my family and I take our annual vacation to Maine to unplug and enjoy this beautiful state with family, great food, people and brews. That is this week and we couldn’t be happier to be here.

With that said this week we will be not posting a new episode and interview. We will back next week to our regular schedule programming with Episode 21 featuring Sarah Shannon of Foggy London Town who does the label artwork for Triple Crossing out of Richmond, VA. Don’t worry during this timewe are going to be making sure we spend as much time enjoying the wonders of the state and have even brought some friends along for some R&D work.

Thank you all so much for the continued support, feedback and interest in the 16oz. Canvas. It is amazing each week the interaction with all of you and the community that we are building in the process. Now’s a great time to go back into the archives and get caught up on all of the episodes you may have missed since joining us.

Have a great day and week!

Tim Oxton

Tim Oxton

Tim Oxton is the Art Director for Night Shift Brewing. It's a role that much like the brewery's success and growth in the craft beer space, has grown organically. Being hired at your brother's company for anyone can be exciting and stressful all at once, but it is also a source of pride for Tim. Over time what started out as helping his brother out evolved into a full-time position that is integral in the image and brand that is NS and Tim's hard work and passion for it play a big part in that. Tim not only is responsible for the labels, but also the photography and images of the brewery. It was great to learn about his process, working with his brother, his photography projects and to chat and share a laugh. This is almost like a podcast version of his strangers with random object project - we'd never met (and still haven't in 3-D) but shared a moment and some stories.

It is with great pleasure that I share with you the next 12-pack of amazingly talented artists who are going to be featured here at the 16oz. Canvas - the Art of Craft Beer Podcast. We are just getting started and can't wait for you to learn more about these talented individuals. Check out the great work of these artists. We're sure you'll be as excited as we are to have them in the mix.

Lisa Sotero

Lisa Sotero

Lisa is a hard worker that did what was necessary to take care of her daughter and her family, but she never gave up on her passion which was art and illustration. So much so that her work resonated with Andy at Stony Creek causing them to scrap the original plans their agency had for the designer and to track down Lisa to meet with them. Her Herons are bold and detailed and have helped to bring Stony Creek's beer and brewery to life. It was a joy to speak with Lisa and learn more about her story, her family and experience her humility and appreciation for art and her fellow artists. This is a great story that I know you will enjoy.
