Hello and welcome to the 16oz. Canvas - the Art of Craft Beer. My name is AJ Keirans and I am the Founder and Host of this project. This unique insight into the craft beer industry brings together two of my passions, radio and craft beer.

Each episode will take an intimate look at the Artists and Designers who bring our favorite beers and breweries to life through their work on this unique sized canvas. The project will officially launch on April 7th - National Beer Day.

Over the last five years the number of breweries in the United States has reached an all-time high. Add in the utilization of new technology including but not limited to mobile canning stations, dynamic and affordable design software and even the crowler and you’ll find an exciting era in craft beer history. With the increased amount of real estate allocated for craft beer in your local liquor and package stores not to mention the numerous brewery only special releases available to you, now more than ever design and creativity outside of the can and bottle is essential. We all have gone down the beer aisle unsure of what adult beverage we should choose for our guests or weekend starter kit, only to be swayed by a great logo or design. Our hope is that the beer is just as good as the artwork, but this is a beer agnostic project focused on the artists. Styles and ratings are not the priority of this endeavor.

Each week we will introduce you to a new artist from around the country and showcase their work in and outside of the craft beer industry.  Their stories and adventures are unique and inspiring while giving a glimpse into their personality and creative process. Whether you’re a beer snob, art lover, entrepreneur or podcast addict, this project has something for everyone.

The 16oz. Canvas is a passion project and something that I’ve been thinking about for a long time. I’m not an artist, but know what I like and will be sharing that with you each week. Our goal here is to celebrate art and those who create it for the beers we love, all while learning something new about them and their craft. Each story is unique and interesting.

Thank you for being a part of this exciting project.
